Donald J. Tharp, CAP®, CFP®, MSFS, President

Don is an avid outdoorsman. He enjoys outdoor activities with his family – wife Shelly, to whom he’s been married since 1984, and three adult children, Bridget, Zac, Tiffany and their families.

Like the work he brings to his clients, Don is goal-oriented. He focuses on life in four areas:

  1. Core Goals: The priceless aspects of life that include health, happiness, family, peace of mind, love and faith.
  2. Experience Goals: Knowledge, education, traditions and adventure within family, business and community.
  3. Financial Goals: Creating wealth for the Tharp family so it can grow and be enjoyed for multiple generations.
  4. Contribution Goals: Giving to others of time, talent and treasure. Most financial contributions are made through the Tharp Family Foundation which is a donor advised fund of the Hudson Community Foundation.

Don is passionate about the financial services industry, which he entered in 1985. He earned a Master of Science in Financial Services from the American College in 1993. He is also a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) and a Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP®).
